From the very large.................

          .............. to the rather small!

 

Our kennel name was chosen in 1989 when we imported the first of several Irish Wolfhounds from the Nutstown kennels, located near the small village of Ballyboughal  in Co. Dublin .We had many years of  loving companionship, showing and breeding the Irish Wolfhounds. 

 

Planning for the future meant "downsizing". I had shown and owned standard smooth dachshunds from the Fardross Kennels of Miss Beth Morris as a child and the miniature wire haired dachshund was an easy choice of smaller hound.

Same rough coat, beard and eyebrows. Still in the Hound Group.

 A constant source of entertainment, this variety is a born clown and fantastic little house dog. Be aware - they do retain their hunting instincts and have no idea that they are only around 5 kgs in weight.

Our first import, NZ Ch. Loretto Chief Scout arrived from "Loretto" in England in 1996,followed in succession by NZ Ch Loretto Made Welcome, NZ Ch Loretto Welcome Bizniz, NZ Ch L.Carnaby Street and lastly, NZ Ch Ubu Finnish In Style.

 Jean Hallett continues as a wonderful mentor and it is due in no small measure that I owe much to her 40 years in the breed.
